It's time I started taking the business side of things more seriously so I designed a logo for Monty Creates to help market myself.

The idea of making a logo has been on my mind for quite a while, especially since I made the montycreates.com website, but I had been lacking a solid idea on what to do for the logo.

Like all the best things in life, the inspiration came by accident.

If you've ever fixed a puncture on a bicycle you'll probably recognise this. I was trying to fix a leak in a camping mat and when I tried to pull off a bit of plastic covering the tyre patch it left what you see above. This happened right before I went to the Isle of Man so I put it on my Instagram story and then the idea settled in.

I'm slowly adding the logo to my social media accounts and to this website so that my work is easily identifiable wherever it ends up. It's now also printed on my new business cards, some stickers and on t-shirts that I can wear at events and when working to promote myself. Having an online presence is possibly the best way to market yourself these days but I think it's still important to have off line products like these to help with making yourself known - although admittedly, I did only go to order business cards, the t-shirts and stickers were more for fun but will still help with promoting myself.

The logo will probably be tweaked over time but the design concept will stay the same. Exciting times ahead for Monty Creates.
